What information do I need to get before I buy a Canadian MSB that is registered with FINTRAC?
When you want to buy a Canadian MSB it is essential that you get appropriate details from the broker, the vendor, or the marketplace that is listing it. If you manage to find a Canada MSB for Sale, then you need to understand the basic information about the entity and the sale process itself.
Typically these are the kinds of details listed below that I would like to see before I buy a ready-made Canada MSB for Sale:
Specifically, I would like details on the following:
- Price
- Locality/Region
- UBO Basic Info: (Country of origin, company, and domicile; identity not required)
- FINTRAC Registration Link
- RPAA Status: (Filed or not filed)
- Resident Director Details (what it costs to maintain one, etc.)
- Bank Account: (Yes/No)
- Company Activities: (As per FINTRAC registration)
- Operational History
- Tax Information
- Sales Policy/Process: (Details on your company's specific sales approach)
- Payment Information: (Bank account country and account type: individual/personal)
- UBO KYC Information: (List of documents that will be provided, like Passport, Address Verification via Bank Statement or Utility Bill)
- Any additional relevant details
- Any regulatory action that was taken (i.e. any red flags)
- Change of Control, will they be available for the entire Change of Control process.
- Will they help with the dashboard and filing assistance during the change of control?
These are the basic things that you wish to know and anything else you can always ask them. Is there anything else, other than these items listed, that you are interested in or that you feel I should know when buying a license?
